iTMobile. Monitor your TMobile minutes on your iPhone FREE!!

The app is available free on the AppStore : Link will open in iTunes

Do you have an iPhone? Are you on TMobile? Do you wish there was an app which would keep you posted on the minutes you are using or SMS messages your have used.

Better…if it can alert you when you are past a “threshold” which you can set yourself.

If you answered yes, to all of the above then iTMobile is the app for you. Soon to be released in the AppStore. And it will be FREE ! I am making it an advertisement supported application and making it free for consumers. If you like it, then just click an Ad now and then to support development and in order for me to provide you with better versions and updates in the future.

Yes, I know you can do #225# and #646# to get usage data. But how many times are you willing to do that in a day? Also, have you noticed, that Tmobile (or any other provider for that matter), doesn’t tell you how many minutes you have left (Almost feels like they are hiding that info from you, so that you go over!).

Here are some screenshots to give you a brief teaser of iTMobile in its current avatar :

  3. I got a few error reports from users so far that they were getting login errors. I am documenting the most common causes here :

    1) Make sure that you can go to my.t-mobile.com website and login using the id/password you are provding the iPhone app first.

    2) If the ID/password is correct and you still get an error, the most likely cause is a problem with the Tmobile site. For eg. I noticed that when logged in to the site, you click on Usage Details, sometimes it doesnt do anything. Since, iTmobile retrieves usage details from the same webpage, it errors out, if there is a problem with the website.

    3) TMobile’s billing service is down for scheduled maintenance several times a week. I have seen this happens on weekends and late in the night.
During, these hours, iTMobile will give you an error that it was unable to login to the website. If this happens then you can ignore this error and check again after few hours.

    4) I haven’t tested this app on Prepaid accounts so far, and my guess is it won’t work for Prepaid/Pay As you Go accounts.

I will keep adding stuff here as and when I learn more.

  4. I got to your site when I clicked support for itmobile app. I have no ID/password problems, and no error messages, no time outs. The problem that I do have, is that the only info the app gives me is minutes….weekend, nights, sms, m2m, account, payments, etc….all that stays 0.
How do I get this app to work properly?

  5. I want to write a program like this, but for Windows mobile. Besides programmatically logging into a Web site and retrieving minute that way, do you know of a Web API that could be used to get the info more cleanly?

    I just started researching this.

    • Hi, I have to admit that I was hoping for TMobile to provide me an API to extract the data. Scraping is a very bad practice and has really low reliability. I had to make my application free, because it bombs half of the time. About the library, I developed my own scraping library. You could potentially use regular expressions as a scraping tool though.
